According to historians, the Côte d’Azur, also known as ‘La Riviera’, is the region where palaces were born at the end of the 18th century. Whether the Côte d’Azur was the birthplace of luxury hotels or whether luxury hotels were the birthplace of the Côte d’Azur is impossible to say, as the history of these luxury hotels is so closely linked to that of the Riviera.
From Théoule to Menton, there are 30 5-star hotels, their architecture inspired by the Château de Versailles and the palaces of the Thousand and One Nights. It’s the highest concentration in France. The whole world comes to the Côte d’Azur to discover French luxury, cultural tourism and to take part in the most glamorous events, such as the famous Cannes Film Festival.
